DTEA Senior secondary School, Laxmi Bai Nagar school, started in the year 1958, has the unique honour of its foundation stone being laid by the first Prime Minister of our country Pt. JawaharLal Nehru in 1960. It always aims at the development and growth of various facets and aspects of a student’s personality. Though the school is basically for the interest of the Tamil speaking community, we follow the policy “Education for all”. Thus today we have 1200 students under the tender and kind care of dedicated and devoted staff numbering to 58.

Ours is one of the seven pioneer educational institutions run by the Delhi Tamil Education Association. This composite co-educational school has rendered useful services to the community for more than 5 decades. It has the credit of moulding a great number of doctors, engineers, scientists, lawyers, IAS officers and such others. At present we offer 3 stream sat senior secondary level---Humanities, Commerce and Science. The subject Tamil is compulsory up to the middle level and thereafter it is one of the optional subjects. In-spite of the fact that many of our students have been first generation school goers, ours has always been a child centred school where it is our endeavour to provide quality education to each child. This report is a testimony of this.
